Vendettas: Final Standings

Okay, sorry this is almost a month late, but just like how MTV makes us wait, I’ve made you guys wait! Haha. So lame. Anyway, since I saw not one episode this season — a real good one from what I can tell — I can only guess at what happened. Unfortunately, our LeBron James, the queen of fantasy MTV Challenge, Yasmine, has won yet again — for the sixth time.

It’s been awhile actually, in MTV years, as Yasmine hasn’t won since three seasons ago with Invasion. With this Vendettas victory, Yasmine has won titles in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. If you’re keeping track, that’s just three years out of nine that she hasn’t got some sort of trophy.

So how’d she do it? Well, it looks like Nicole Z was a dominant player, throwing up 35 points — tied with Cara Maria — for the season lead. Add in Kyle, who had a very robust 32 points, plus not losing any players until WK13, and Yasmine cruised to an easy win.

Her closest competitor, Victor, ended up a distant second despite keeping most of his team around until WK11/12, when team MVP and breakout star Britni was eliminated.

As for George, Jon, Susan, and Kim, they were just, not even close. Sorry guys. Susan lost Cory, Melissa, and Shane by mid-season, so even Cara Maria’s eventual win couldn’t her her do anything but pull out of last place.

Better luck next (non-Champs Vs) season for everyone except Yasmine, congrats again!

The good news is that there’s still competition at the top, the bad news is that it’s most likely down to Yasmine and Victor, our multiple winners.

Yasmine has opened up an +13 point lead, even scoring team hookup points (Kyle / Nicole), and worst of all, not even losing a player yet. Her trio of Nicole, Kyle, and Nelson are dragging her team to the top, and little Jemmye is making her contributions here and there.

The only other team to challenge Yasmine so far is Victor, who had been riding powerhouse Britni to the top but just lost her in WK11. Now he’ll need Zach, Devin, and Natalie to stay alive to have the hope of unseating Yasmine.

Jon has three players remaining in Kailah, Leroy, and Kayleigh. Kim is down to just Brad while Susan only has Cara Maria. It’s safe to say the latter two are out of competition while Jon has an outside chance at returning to contention.

What of our current back-to-back champ you ask? Well, George lost Victor semi-early and now Bananas (to Devin no less!) and any hopes of three-prating will come down to if Tony and Kam can carry her to a title. And if your hopes are on Tony, well…

Well, it looks like Yasmine is right back on top again! Fueled by hookups (and sex) from Nicole Z and Kyle, she's got the early lead. Plus, Nelson took down BFF Cory and is doing some lip locking of his own. Chasing right behind Yasmine is Victor, who has been powered by Britni, who has so far been MVP of the early season.

And with a two week pickup of Melissa -- after losing Cory in WK3 -- Susan has vaulted to the near top also, as Melissa has back-to-back huge weeks before being eliminated WK5 (altho Susan only go the WK4 score). However, now down two players, with no pickups coming, Susan's time in contention could be dwindling...

Kim and George aren't too far behind either, at 34 and 31 points respectively. Their players haven't done too much, with George's team being extremely boring throughout (altho some nice Tony surprises) and with Kim having Brad up for elimination this week. Her second leading scorer is Sylvia actually, and it looks like Sylvia could be the classic "bad player but lasts forever and racks up points" candidate for the season.

As for last palce, Jon didn't even have Eddie show up, and his team has basically done nothing through our first month and a half of Vendettas.

Vendettas: Rules

We're not sure what we'll this season for rules, but we'll assume it's a bit like Dirty Thirty. We're not sure if there's a Redemption House even!

DRAFT

• Six team owners will each select five players each, in a snake style draft. (No leftovers this season...)
• Leftovers are picked up by the team(s) that loses their first two players, a week after their first contestants are eliminated.

SCORING and POINTS
Weekly challenges, bonus points, almost all the same stuff as last year, excepting any rule changes we can't anticipate.

Competition Points (awarded per episode)

• Weekly (+1): Awarded for each week a player stays on the show
• Challenge (+1): Awarded for winning weekly challenge (If team game, each individual on the winning team receives a point)
• Elimination (+1): Awarded for being tossed into an elimination challenge
• Survival (+1): Awarded for winning the elimination challenge 
• Redemption Win (+1): Awarded for winning the Redemption challenge (Note: Exile participants are ineligible for Bonus Points.)

Bonus Points (awarded per episode and per instance)

• Kissing (+2): Romantic, carnal, or via dare, not for congratulatory or "hello" pecks
• Sex (+2): Must be shown on-camera, or acknowledged by both parties (with no doubt)
• Hookup Bonus (+1): Extra point for owning both contestants who either kissed or had sex together. (Only awarded once per couple per episode)
• Fight (+2): Must be a physical fight, including some intent to do harm. (Edit 1/2018: Fights, as determined last season, can be one-sided, like if one person attacks the other, but no fight back, that's just Fight/Attack points for the antagonizer.)
• Tirade (+2): Key phrase is a "crazy ass tirade," including throwing or breaking things
• Medical (+2): Awarded for going to the hospital, or if player needs treatment from a medical professional
• Puke (+2): Awarded for throwing up from drinking, exhaustion, food poisoning, etc. (Has to be shown on camera, not just gagging sounds)
• Crying (+2): Must be a very clear case of crying, not just red face, puffy eyes, watery eyes, but actual real tears
• Booted (+3): Getting booted off the show by producers, be it physical altercation, safety reasons, injuries, etc. Does not apply if the person chooses to leave the show voluntarily aka quits
• Blurcle (+1): Having a body part blurcled (Only awarded once per episode, and for nudity versus logo blocking out, or flicking someone off, etc.)
• Clue (+1): Awarded for reading the clue from TJ Lavin

Finals Points (awarded once at end of season)

• Finals (+5): Awarded to everyone who makes the finals
• Winner: (+7): Awarded to the overall winners (or to all members of the winning team)

Any subjective calls will be cleared up by voting. See old version of rules for examples of past subjective rulings.

ARBITRATION DETAILS
Majority wins the vote-offs (which must be done before the next episode). If there are five owners voting, that should be easy. However, if two separate owners have to abstain because it's their contestants involved, then it's four voters. Ideally a 3-1 majority would take it but if there is a tie, then no points are rewarded. Try to be objective if you can, when voting. And we can cite previous precedent or whatever in our arguments. No bribing though!
