And here we are, thirteen episodes of Bloodlines -- a scoring mishap -- and we'd like to announce a new winner: Susan! Despite starting with fantasy MTV Challenge with us only last season (Exes 2), she's proven to be a champion even as a relative newbie. I mean, she's captured more fantasy titles than Jon, George, and Kim combined already!

Drafting at #2 overall, Susan had the prescience to draft Cara Maria, who dominated this season to the tune of 51 total points (her next closest challenger had only 37 pts), including her first Challenge win. That, along with strong supporting roles from Rianna, Anthony, and the early season dominance of Tony gave Susan the close win over defending back-to-back champion Yasmine.

If you're counting from home, Yasmine came a spare bonus point or two from another title, which would have forced us to shut down the league. She had three players get to Germany for the almost finals, and Jamie, Jenna, and Aneesa were full blown superstars this season, totally unexpectedly. Despite losing Christina in the very first episode, Yasmine slowly crept her way into contention by the end of the year.

As for the other runner-ups, Jon, Victor, Kim, and George were all distantly behind. Victor was out of players by the final two episodes, and the other three had only one finalist each grinding their way toward the end of our season. Let's hope next season brings better luck for our perpetual losers, and with the release of the Rivals III trailer already online, we can all regroup and get ready for another huge season.

Congrats Susan and what a thrilling win for you! (And give me back Cara Maria next year!!!)

Well, this is disgusting. After tabulating the scores for WK 8-11, it looks like Yasmine is once again in the lead. Not only that, with only two episodes to go — the finals and the inevitable “to be continued” — she seems to have a lock on the win for Bloodlines. Yes, that would mean back-to-back-to-back wins for Yasmine. Do we quit after this season? Do we handicap Yasmine somehow? Despite losing Christina after WK1, she didn’t lose another person until Thomas in E7. And then she kept her trio of Aneesa / Jamie / Jenna alive, with the latter two both making the finals.

Last we checked, Susan was in the lead with a slim edge, and she had powerhouse Cara Maria leading the ay, and she seemed to have a championship in her sights, but losing Rianna in WK11 basically means she’s going into the finals down nine points, with only one finals participant versus Yasmine’s two. More importantly, since Jamie and Cara Maria are partners, even if they win and get the +7, Susan can’t take the title. So yeah, good showing for Susan’s sophomore season but she’s going to finish just short of a win.

Jon came on strong near the end of the season but will still finish a distant third, although it’s possible they could eclipse Susan for second place if Cory wins Bloodlines plus gets a ton of bonus points. Let’s get some more puking and hospital and crying points Cory!

As for the rest, Victor officially lost all his players in WK11, having lost the pairs of Kellyanne / Candice and then Abram / Mike in successive weeks. Vince was eliminated right before the finals so Victor will have to settle for a fourth place finish this season. Kim had lost half her team by WK5 but hung on to have Brianna make the finals, although that won’t get Kim any higher than fifth.

And then there’s George, who once again got the #1 overall pick but wasted it on CT, who picked up two guest appearances but not much else. And with only Mitch still around after WK4, George was basically riding last place all season -- unless Mitch wins, which could vault George into second-to-last place... But George has an actual physical baby (Hi Greta!) as her prize, so that will be the real bloodlines she participated in this season.

Here’s to a thrilling final, and of course, I hope my girl Cara Maria finally wins the damn thing!

[Correction, correction: Susan actually has 94 points! Meaning she's got a five point lead on Yasmine! If she can somehow avoid Jenna capturing the +7, and without too many bonus points from Jamie / Jenna, she could ride Cara Maria to the championship!]

We haven't checked in with standings for three weeks and during that time Victor has made up a lot of ground, going from 19 to 51 points! He's done it by having only lost Candice and then the power duo of Abram and Kellyanne has helped power him back near contention.

Right above him is defending champ Yasmine who was riding Thomas for a few weeks -- similar to a Challenge contestant -- before he just got eliminated and now Yasmine's down to just three players. Shockingly, Jenna and Aneesa are proving to be a great one-two punch and Yasmine should never be counted out for the title. As for Jon, he's likely out of the running now that Nany's been eliminated, leaving him with just Johnny Bananas and Cory. Then again, maybe the great Bananas is enough to get Jon into striking distance?

Those too far behind the pack to contend this season are likely Kim and George. Kim lost Cohutta early, and then Leroy, Raphy, and Nicole in quick succession. Now she's down to just Brianna, and that's probably not gonna get up close to a title for Bloodlines. As for George, she's technically got two players left in CT and Mitch but who knows when CT will show up...

And finally there's our current leader, sophomore Challenge league participant and now with an imposing +11 lead on the competition: Susan! She got off to an early lead with Tony's shenanigans and hasn't slowed down since, with everyone on her team contributing across the board. With Stephen's ouster, Susan will have to ride Cara Maria, Anthony, and Rianna down the stretch and try to get one of them into the Finals to try to secure a fantasy win. We think she can do it!

So, three weeks in and here’s our top five scorers: Tony (10), Camila (8), Brianna (8), Candice (8), Jenna (8). That’s not exactly a power list, and a few of those people are going to imminently off the show.

As for our standings, semi-newbie owner Susan is leading the pack with 30 points, off the strength of owning Tony but also having nice performances from Rianna, Stephen and Cara Maria. Nipping at her heels, just two points behind is defending champion Yasmine, who has already lost Christina but that isn’t slowing her down as Jenna and Thomas have been pretty good.

And George, dear George, who is eight months pregnant and dutifully doing our scoring. Despite losing Jill and not even having CT show up yet, she’s in third place with Camila leading the way. Behind her are Jon, Victor, and Kim, who are separated by just one point. Kim and Jon have both lost one player already — Emily for Jon, Cohutta for Kim — so it’ll be an uphill battle already for them. With so many “to be continued…” episodes we’re assuming this season goes at least twelve episodes so we’re likely only a quarter of the season in.

Bloodlines: Rules

We're not 100% sure what changes Bloodlines will have -- rumors are that new players will come in mid-season -- but we know that hookup points are off the table because, well, gross!

DRAFT

• Six team owners will each select five players each, in a snake style draft. (Two players will be "leftovers."
• Leftovers are left undrafted for the entire season, and unscored.

SCORING and POINTS
Weekly challenges, bonus points, almost all the same stuff as last year, excepting any rule changes we can't anticipate. See below.

Competition Points (awarded per episode)

• Weekly (+1): Awarded for each week a player stays on the show
• Challenge (+1): Awarded for winning weekly challenge (If team game, each individual on the winning team receives a point)
• Elimination (+1): Awarded for being tossed into an elimination challenge
• Survival (+1): Awarded for winning the elimination challenge 
• Exile Win (+1): Awarded for winning the Exile challenge (Note: Exile participants are ineligible for Bonus Points.)

Bonus Points (awarded per episode and per instance)

• Kissing (+2): Romantic, carnal, or via dare, not for congratulatory or "hello" pecks
• Sex (+2): Must be shown on-camera, or acknowledged by both parties (with no doubt)
• Hookup Bonus (+1): Extra point for owning both contestants who either kissed or had sex together. (Only awarded once per couple per episode)
• Fight (+2): Must be a physical fight, including some intent to do harm
• Tirade (+2): Key phrase is a "crazy ass tirade," including throwing or breaking things
• Medical (+2): Awarded for going to the hospital, or if player needs treatment from a medical professional
• Puke (+2): Awarded for throwing up from drinking, exhaustion, food poisoning, etc. (Has to be shown on camera, not just gagging sounds)
• Crying (+2): Must be a very clear case of crying, not just red face, puffy eyes, watery eyes, but actual real tears
• Booted (+3): Getting booted off the show by producers, be it physical altercation, safety reasons, injuries, etc. Does not apply if the person chooses to leave the show voluntarily aka quits
• Blurcle (+1): Having a body part blurcled (Only awarded once per episode, and for nudity versus logo blocking out, or flicking someone off, etc.)
• Clue (+1): Awarded for reading the clue from TJ Lavin

Finals Points (awarded once at end of season)

• Finals (+5): Awarded to everyone who makes the finals
• Winner: (+7): Awarded to the overall winners (or to all members of the winning team)

Any subjective calls will be cleared up by voting. See old version of rules for examples of past subjective rulings.

ARBITRATION DETAILS
Majority wins the vote-offs (which must be done before the next episode). If there are five owners voting, that should be easy. However, if two separate owners have to abstain because it's their contestants involved, then it's four voters. Ideally a 3-1 majority would take it but if there is a tie, then no points are rewarded. Try to be objective if you can, when voting. And we can cite previous precedent or whatever in our arguments. No bribing though!

New Season: Bloodlines

And here we go, another season of MTV Challenge is upon us! (Wait, did we not update the site/scores for Exes 2? WTF?!) This season will feature ex-cast members paired up with their family, giving us a fresh set of newbies to evaluate and cheer/hate.
