Week 10 Scores

Sigh, another Challenge, another win for Johnny Bananas. I mean, he deserved it because he fought hard but I really wanted CT and Diem to win. It wasn't until CT about died that I even remembered that he smoked. He's inspired me to smoke less, on the off chance I need to go on the Challenge. It's been a pretty strong season -- even though most of us were out of the running early -- and with Victor's first champion, we have a new winner. Congrats!

Kim had a great showing this time out and had a chance to take the belt until CT collapsed in the snow. Incredibly, Yasmine, with just Camila for most of the season, outscored both Yangs by 10+ points each.

Scoring Notes: No bonus points at all, that has to be a first for a final. No puking, no Laurel crying, no Wes bitching out, nothing. Before the final episode, we did have a debate about how our rules interpreted the "+7 for being the winner" rule. According to exact wording of the rules, the winners get +5 and then a +7. Of course, we've somehow not been scoring it this way for the past three or four seasons. Only if you look back at our first season, Ruins 2, did we actually do it this way -- correctly. Obviously giving just +2 for the winner versus making the finals is not enough, especially in light of our drama points having been pumped up to +2. So in the end we ended up deciding to give the winners +12 total, even though it was WK9 and went against precedent.

For next season, we should revisit all our rules and clarify a lot of things like hooking up, balance between drama vs competition points, and all of that. For now, great season and I'm excited to see what's next!
