Headed for the big finish

How sad are we that the season is drawing to a close? I'm starting to think I need to start a celebrity season again to pass the time until the next challenge. I feel like this last episode, while not as drama filled as the Brad one, is a worthy lead up to the finale.

From this interview with Dunbar, there seems to have been a little controversy about the rules for the Ruins. "If you’re in the circle, you have to hold on. That’s what was explained to us. The girls went for 45 minutes. Every time they stepped out of the circle, you could let go. They changed the rules last second. The girls had to go 2 out of 3 and the guys went winner takes all. It was very unclear." Also, in last week's after show, Susie mentioned that her and Kim were going at it for like an hour. What a brutal Ruins and did you see how red Susie's knees were?

Having just watched the movie Precious, I'm seen some heavy verbal abuse but what Kenny does to Sarah is just way too much. Maybe they are flirt teasing but geezes man, lay off! She's a cool chick who would never give you the time of day in the real world (no caps) and you're trying to make her feel terrible? Fellas, the flirt teasing works for awhile but then you just start to hammer away at insecurities. Trust me, I know. And Evan has to stop this sweetheart routine. Join in the fun of making fun but then come in to make everyone feel better with flowers. Remember he did this with Tanya? And now Sarah. I like Evan but stop it. Pick a side man, be sweet or spicy, you can't be both.

Is Susie's hair really that blonde? With her complexion and root color, is she really such a blonde blonde? One of you ladies tell me if it's possible. Sometimes when she's just showered or it's all blown out, Susie's hair is exactly the color I'd imagine Rapunzel's is, and I'll admit it, I'm mesmerized.

Speaking of hair, it's high time for Derrick to go with the shaved head look. Bro, your hair is thinning, cut it already. I mean, this is treacherous territory since many men pushing mid-thirties may have to do this sometime soon (including me!), but for Derrick the time is absolutely now. Your hair has jumped the shark little D, time to go bald!

And onto the actual game, it's disgusting what Johnny suggested they do to Susie. Especially when he cites her as "not a team player." Hello, your entire alliance is all about selfishness and now you want to shaft Susie, undefeated Susie who has pulled her own weight in the Ruins and beyond, to snake her out of her hard earned money? Johnny, you slime ball.

It was so so nice of the other Champion boys to not throw the challenge. That would have earned them another level of hell if they'd done that. If they can't beat out a team of girls, do they really deserve the money anyway? I was surprised Kenny didn't throw the challenge at Johnny's behest but I guess underneath all that assholeness is a guy who can be nice once in awhile. Plus apparently he was a fat kid growing up, which reveals that he probably has some insecurities about that. As a wannabe competitor, I'm going to sock that information away for future psychological use. I will break Kenny if I get on that show. I will do it.

I'm convinced Casey isn't as helpless as she looks. She's obviously a terrible actress and all her histrionics seem pre-rehearsed and not one bit convincing. I find it hard to believe that she's THAT unathletic. I mean, why would you just lay there when at least you could try a little bit? She's definitely throwing challenges, I guarantee it.

As for that specific challenge, flowers? Really? I mean, it's novel but they are picking flowers from vases? Who's sponsoring this stuff? FTD?

So next week it's the poet and the femmebot versus the boys plus Susie. I would love to see an upset. Everyone would. I can't imagine any way this happens, even if the Challengers look really great from the eating promos, but that would make reality history. Please win Sarah, I heart you. And Kelly Anne can bring home the money for Wes (and then dump him).

Sorry this has been so disjointed. I watched the episode and had too many notes and little tidbits to remember. Then I figured, no, screw it, I need to hold everything in for the finale. Which I dearly hope we can watch and then make a podcast about. Also, since HT is the clear champion, what kind of prize should we reward her with? If nobody comes up with anything better, that DVD is coming your way HT!
