Random Thoughts:
What an episode. I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with this season.

This week, I see the end of my team's tiny firecracker - Jasmine, who has cried and bitched her way through Challenge history. At 22 pts, she is the current point leader, (although that high water mark is likely to be erased by the eventual finals winner) she has cemented her rookie of the year award.

Speaking of points, how did the sexes stack up against each other so far? So far the ladies are leading the challenge with 160 cumulative points against 116 for males. Does this mean that women are superior? I surely hope not, but it is what it is, as the ladies are pure challenge royalty from the matriarchal society ruled by Queen Jenn, to the unilateral and unequivocal alpha athlete status of Evelyn and Laurel. Oh it helps that women cry and bitch all the time as well. Here's some early advice for owners next year, when in doubt, pick a lady.

In terms of owner scores, I'd have to say that I'm feeling nervous with the lead heading down the home stretch. I think this year's champion will be decided by the final episode, and will determined by whether the Evelyn-Paula, or Laurel-CM team takes first place. I'm hoping that finally, it will be my time, but you never know. I maybe the fantasy equivalent of a Jenn or Paula, so many challenges - no wins. As for the other owners, we see HT come out of retirement and struggle out of the gates. It was never the same for Michael either, so there's no shame. I think HT was bitten by bad luck and also changed up her strategy by picking the overweight Evan. Her previous Mind of the Master strategy included picking attractive and trim competitors, but she steered towards nostalgia with Evan when players from the Wes/Kenny, Johnny/Tyler & Adam/CT teams were still available. As a recruiter, I think her intuition is fine, and had she gotten the 13 points from Mike Mike instead Adam R(rememember this dude?) she would have been sitting pretty right now in 3rd place and in the middle of the pack. Speaking of the pack, Kim comes back from a freshman flop last year to a solid showing so far in the middle for her sophmore game. Great solid pick of Paula who I think when the dust settles, will be the female MVP of the year. In other news, I need to call out the Yangs as collectively having not accomplished anything in this game. Their story line going into finals will once again be, Who Will Be The Better Yang, an award that is much akin to the Most Improved, and Perfect Attendance awards. Go Jon, my money's on you.

Usually I add some show highlights, and I have a lot...even from the commercials. For example, Jersey Shore, a show that I'm fairly ignorant about...but from the commercial, there's this gal that thinks an italian waiter is cute and adds as a plus that he "speaks well english." I think jersey italians are probably like Socal philipino FOBs.

But I want to leave the blog post open for other people's thoughts, don't want to steal too much thunder. Mebbe post again later...

I'm offended, and George is too! For the record, George and I were neck and neck for #1 last year until the final episode. As far as I recall, that's about as close as Victor has ever been. One can't talk like a champion until they've won something. Ahem.

I need to post some follow up thoughts, what a great episode!
