And Even Less Brawn

Wow, am I sad. I just lost my second player. Vinny, I thought you would provide me at least a little more action, whether with the ladies or in the challenges! I'm now down to who I though would be my weakest two players-- Luke and Sandy. While I hope that Luke's union with Evelyn will keep him around for a while, I'm not feeling optimistic that either he or Sandy will make it to the end. I just hope that those two start getting frisky with their fellow players, as that may be my main opportunity for points.

Highlights from this week:
-I thought Evelyn/Wes' move to pit Kenny against a good friend was brilliant. They used Kenny's own tactic against him (when Kenny/Evan/Johnny pitted Kelly Anne against Evelyn). Brilliant!

-I'm even more convinced Laurel is crazy. When she made that comment about her and Kenny going back for blood, I kinda believe she meant it literally.

-Jillian- while I don't think it was very sportsmanlike to just not participate in the challenge, I see her reasoning. If she thought she was going back to the Exile, why suffer in the cold water and waste her energy. Though I do feel bad for Pete for having to deal with such a prissy partner. Go him for voting on his own!

-The Theresa/Wes situation grosses me out. Both because she was going for both Wes and Kenny and because she looks so similar to Johanna.

-I continue to be confused by Ryan's hairstyle.

-I love the image of Landon, calmly golfing away in the aftermath of his victory. Landon is awesome! He's friendly, he plays fair, and he plays well. I was happy to see him win the challenge, reassuming his place as one of the strongest players. And go Carly-- she kicked ass!

Sorry Kimberly! Rough first 2 episodes, and completely unexpected. Here's to hoping your luck turns around. I feel like Luke and Eve still got points left in him.

Also I relate to how difficult it is to split personality from appearance. Attraction is multi-dimensional, and it is often hard to say why.

I've been very fascinated with decision making, and the way ppl come to decisions. Understanding the whole human psyche. But sometimes trying to explain why can be frustrating or misleading. For example, take this college psychology experiment where they had students choose posters they liked.

In the first group, they were allowed to pick any poster and keep it for free. The second group, they could do the same, but before keeping the poster, they just had to write down why that poster.

6 months later, a follow-up was conducted with students from both groups, and it turns out that the first group, or the one students that didn't have to explain why were more likely to still have the poster up on the wall.

Food for thought. Courtesy of Malcolm Gladwell.

I like to think that Jillian DQ'ed as a strategic play to make herself less of a target.

I wasn't on hairstyle watch, but I will be paying attention from now on!

That was fun cheering for Sarah and Vinny to hook up right? We got what, one point of the whole thing? Sigh.

You make a great point about Laurel. Her crazy is revealing itself even more. I'm fascinated because we got to see post-Challenge Laurel and maybe this Exile was the start of it all.

Are Ryan's sideburns muttonchops? Are those sideburns? I need to start paying attention to people's hair too. Now that there's fewer tattoos to stare at.
