Draft
Six team owners will each select four players, in a snake style draft.
There will be two contestants left over. The team who gets all their players eliminated receives one of the two leftover contestants (if they are still around).
Scoring and Points
Oh yes, the scoring has gotten a tad more complicated this time around. Last year we focused strictly on who got eliminated and who escaped the Ruins. But that neglected all the drama that the season encompassed. So this time around our scoring will be the following:
Competition Points (awarded per episode)Arbitration Details
+1 point for each week your person stays on the show
+1 point for winning the weekly Challenge
+1 point for being sent into Exile
+1 point for winning the Exile
+1 point for winning a Pardon
Bonus Points (awarded per episode)
+1 point for hooking up (kissing on the lips, making out, groaning sounds under covers, etc.)
+1 bonus point if you own both contestants who hooked up
+1 point for getting into a physical fight
+1 point for "crazy (ass tirade)"
+1 point for going to the hospital
+1 point for throwing up
+1 point for crying
Finals Points
+3 for making the finals
+5 for being the winner
Clearly there will be some subjective takes for the bonus stuff, but while we want to be as objective as possible, there will probably be some debate and voting. If a hook up or crazy ass tirade is in question for example, we can just vote and majority wins after both sides present their argument.
Some general rules of thumb for the bonus points:
- It has to be shown or be provable on camera, then from there we can vote/argue about if something constituted a hook up.
- No "extras" or "behind-the-scenes" specials or aftershows or "web clips" don't count.
- You are awarded one bonus point for each instance. If Veronica hooks up with Cyrus and MJ during the episode, that's +2. However, if she hooks up with Cyrus over and over that episode, that's just +1. If they hook up again next episode though, then they can get more points.
- Hook ups aren't just kissing, or a congratulatory peck. There should be some level of lust and passion, some measure of potential hookupability. Example, Laurel and Pete's Truth or Dare kiss in Meet the Meat counts as a hook up.
- Examples of a crazy ass tirade was Eve going bananas and knocking things around the house after getting sent in against Kelly Anne, or Katie going nuts after the plunger incident in her bed.
- Physical fights, do they include wrestling? I say yes, like if two people engage in an attempt to do physical harm, even if it's not actually punching/kicking, that's a point.
Majority wins the vote-offs (which must be done before the next episode). If there are five owners voting, that should be easy. However, if two separate owners have to abstain because it's their contestants involved, then it's four voters. Ideally a 3-1 majority would take it but if there is a tie, then no points are rewarded. Try to be objective if you can, when voting. And we can cite previous precedent or whatever in our arguments. No bribing though!

Looks good! Thanks for writing all this out. Also, if I own Veronica and Cyrus in your hooking up example, then that should be 3 points for that episode (1 for V, 1 for Cyrus, and 1 for owning both of them). Right?
Oh definitely, +1 for each person AND +1 for the bonus. So 3 total.
brilliant, thank you, this is awesome
Good to see that there is another group of people doing a league like this and that it was inspired by Bill Simmons. Our first season was the Real World DC. Does anyone actually know if Evelyn is in this season? She isn't on MTV's site but she is on the show's facebook page and wikipedia as being on the cast. I got her in our draft with the last pick in the 1st round.
Our league home is at adambeat.blogspot.com.
I took a chance and drafted Evelyn in our 2nd round. I'm pretty sure I see a glimpse of her in the Fresh Meat 2 trailer (pushing a log in the back). And yes, she has been mentioned on FB and Wikipedia. Just you wait!
If Evelyn is MIA, I think I get one of the leftover players or her replacement? If it's a leftover, I choose Brandon.
I also think that I see Eve in the black, and in the back, but not sure.
Love the blog synergy.
