Random Thoughts

I got caught up on episodes this weekend and so far the drama has been interesting. I feel a bit lost here, since my team has suffered horribly. It's just a bit harder to stay "interested" when things aren't going well I suppose.

Not much to say right? Well I guess I can talk about interesting plotlines and scenes apart from my team.

Ayiia vs CM. When both ladies are nominated for the gulag, the knives come out flying. Ayiia accuses CM of "s---ing the biggest something" in the house in reference to her relationship with Abram. Ironically, Ayiia is sitting topless in the hot tub while making these comments. People sometimes hate in others, what they hate in themselves.

Ty vs Brandon. Watching their pre-gulag interviews, you can tell that Ty is confident, and Brandon is scared. Ty's demeanor is calm and cocky, while Brandon is saying things that sound confident, but he's visibly distraught. This is evidenced by his arms rubbing his legs as he is talking to soothe his discomfort. However, Brandon wins! By default, as Ty apparently tired himself out and could not continue. I don't believe he just "gave up" though, and I think that Ty, as a personal trainer, probably emphasized too much weight lifting and muscle tone, as opposed to conditioning. I noticed this was a problem with Wes as well, who got bigger for his challenges, but then had issues with his endurance based exile. Too many fast twitch muscles. I think I know this feeling, when your conditioning is completely gassed. I've felt faint enough where I see spots and have some issues staying conscious. This is also why I would side with a soccer player in a fight over a football player. The football player would gas after that quick initial burst.

On other thoughts about Ty, first, he has anger issues and unchecked aggression with Emily. Ty is probably someone that people don't say no to that much. Mostly b/c he's a big and intimidating guy and also that he's verbose and intelligent enough not to be taken for a fool. However, it also means that perhaps he doesn't really know right from wrong, since no one can correct him. Second, Ty says its not "gay" to to have another guy do "something" to his "something" woah! These are the same somethings that Ayiia flamed CM for doing to Abram. I wonder if he'll ever live that one down, and I know from a sociology perspective, that the hispanic and AA communities are traditionally very homophobic. Ty tries to get Luke to play along, but he's not having anything to do with it, at least on TV.

Camila vs Johnny. Is Johnny using her? Is Camila using Johnny? I wonder if she doesn't really know what she's doing and is aware that her team doesn't trust her. She might really trying to play Johnny and get by with him. Watching the aftershow, Dunbar says that after Chet was hospitalized and throwing up, and Brandon sank in the middle of his swim, Camila became aware that their team was going to lose. So she then tried to stick her finger in her throat to induce vomiting and feign sickness. I don't know if this truly happened, but it strikes me that Camila is fairly cunning and more than meets the eye.

It's on the aftershow-- I don't think there's a clip of it actually happening. But if Camilla did try to make herself puke, that's a new low.
