Team Whatever

Another mtv challenge is back and for some reason I always think each one is going to be the last one because honestly what do these people do in their normal lives that they can keep coming back year after year but they keep coming and the challenges only seem to be getting better and better. Actually I wish someone would start a blog chronicling their everyday lives because that is what I would be interested in. I want to know who are friends in real life and actually hang out. Does everyone make fun of paula because she’s such a crybaby and has gotten dicked over at the end each time? Besides the money that the winners receive at the end, do they get rings or something they can wear around so that everyone knows they’re challenge winners? And most importantly do they actually get the prizes from each challenge because I think I read somewhere once that the contestants were still waiting on those.

so anyways yes the challenge is back, tomorrow I believe is the first episode, and we’ve already drafted and hashed out the rules which must be a record time for us. The theme that mtv has come up with this year is rivals which I think is pretty ingenious. Of course I did no preparation going into the draft (sorry but I’ve been busy and don’t have hours to sit in front of my computer outside of work, ahem unlike some of the owners) so I had no idea that everyone was actually paired up with their rivals and had to work together. I’m an idiot I know. For some reason I was going in thinking that they were playing individually and had to go up against their rivals but when I reflect on that now, it doesn’t seem to make all that much sense but I swear it did at the time.

so this was the premise I was going into when the drafting started and lo and behold, I actually got the #1 pick which I’ve decided I pretty much hate since by the time I get to my #2 pick, all the good people are gone. With my #1 pick and the #1 overall in the draft, I had to pick my favorite gal jenn. I don’t care if she’s not the strongest girl and maybe not the most dramatic either (we’re awarding more points for drama this year) although she is known to speak her mind and get in a tussle or two but I chose her purely for sentimental reasons.

My #2 pick was tyler and I chose him because all the guys I wanted were gone and I remember him doing pretty well last season against CT so I figure why not but I wasn’t too enthused about it. Then for my #3 pick, I excitedly picked up sarah since she made it to the finals last time and always seemed to fly below the radar until jon texted me that she was paired with katelynn who is TERRIBLE and then that’s when it dawned on me….oh shit they’re in teams! I had no idea! I totally just f*(# up on this pick and spent the next 10 or 15 minutes on the internet to see who the teams were. Uh duh.

Then of course by the time it got to my #4 pick, the last pick of the entire draft, I was a bit wiser and knew that I couldn’t pick robin or aneesa since they were teammates and aneesa is a wimp and it was between tyrie or davis and for no real reason I landed on tyrie (the chubby one…another awesome pick).

So once again, here’s my team members and well, the way I feel about them is exactly reflected by the title of my post and wouldn’t it be ironic if this is the team that will actually win me my first challenge…sigh. Go me.
