Whether screaming at you up close or getting some tongue action, this
team is IN YOUR FACE! With so many new Challenge faces this season,
this draft was a bit tricky as there didn't appear to be any clear front
runners. I decided to approach this draft by first ranking the teams:
1. Las Vegas
2. San Diego
3. St. Thomas
4. Cancun
5. Austin
6. Fresh Meat
7. Brooklyn
8. New Orleans
I based this ranking on the overall athleticism and mental stability of the team members. Since winning teams would go far in the setup of this challenge, I thought it best to try to pick people from my high-ranked teams, even if individually they may suck. A weak player on a good team could still go far, while a good player on a weak team could get dragged down by the bunch.
Does anyone remember Mike Smrek? No. But guess what? That guy has an NBA championship ring with the LA Lakers. Weak player, good team. And so I put my Smrek Strategy to use...
1. Frank - Frank is fabulous and a hothead.
In the trailer, he's getting up in Wes's face (IN YOUR FACE!) and gets
some kiss action...twice! He appears to be a bonus point machine based on this
alone, but he's also on Team San Diego with Thor (aka Zach) so I feel
like he can ride on Zach's coattails a while since he's a monster and
hopefully their team wins challenges.
2. Nany - I was a fan of Nany during her Real World season. She's pretty and a feisty crazy bitch. Also, her RW bio said that she was an athlete and dancer for a semi-pro hockey team through college. I don't know how you can be both for the hockey team, but who cares! She may be my secret weapon if she turns out to be a pretty face with athletic chops. Finally, she's on Team Las Vegas, my #1 ranked team, since I think Alton, Trishelle, and Dustin are all pretty strong players. Nany is a definite Smrek pick.
3. Trey - I wanted to pick someone from St. Thomas here as I think this team is underrated and could break the newbie curse. They are all pretty athletic and young. If their team wins challenges, they could be a contender to go far. At this point, Kim already took Marie who is supposed to "control their political game." It was kind of a crap shoot whom to pick out of Trey, Laura, and Robb as I thought they were all strong. I went with Trey as I thought he could be more of a team leader, has athletic football skills, and looks to hookup with Laura.
4. Laura - Amazingly, Laura and Robb are still available as no one seems to believe in Team St. Thomas except for me (and Kim?). The other pickings did not look great, so I took the risk and picked another St. Thomas player. I got screwed last year with the Heather-Dustin combo who went home super early because of Dustin's injury, and I had both of them. I could be making the same mistake by picking Laura, but she is an athletic girl (played first string quarterback for the Lingerie Football League) and in the trailer, she talks about being manipulative and I think she is making out with Trey -- kiss bonus and same team hookup bonus! I hope they rekindle their relationship and I get rich on hookup points.
5. Danny - It's so hard to pick out of the leftovers. Jon scooped up Robb right before me or else I might have had a St. Thomas trifecta! I was debating between Danny and JD here. Decided to go with Danny as an old school fave. He might get some drama points out of the whole Melinda ex-wife story. Plus, being on Team Wes, will this give him protection or will he get thrown under the bus...again? If he gets betrayed by Wes twice, then he really is an idiot.

I think Dany and melinda may survive for a while. I hope, the foreshadowing indicates that they want to rekindle their failed marriage. I hope other teams may leave them alone because of that and because they aren't a threat any more.
If it were me, I'd want to punch Frank. Just to get him outta there. (Test comment)

I don't think they should get rekindled. It would have been interesting if someone hits on her, which Chet hints at, during his partner interview (somewhere on the MTV website)
